This Act may be called the Transfer of Property Act, 1882.
Commencement.—It shall come into force on the first day of July, 1882.
Extent.—³[It extends to the whole of Bangladesh.]
³ The words “It extends to the whole of Bangladesh” were substituted, for the third, fourth, fifth, sixth and seventh paragraphs by section 3 and 2nd Schedule of the Bangladesh Laws (Revision And Declaration) Act, 1973 (Act No. VIII of 1973).

³ “এটি সমগ্র বাংলাদেশে প্রযোজ্য হবে” শব্দগুলো তৃতীয়, চতুর্থ, পঞ্চম, ষষ্ঠ ও সপ্তম অনুচ্ছেদের পরিবর্তে বাংলাদেশ আইন (সংশোধন ও ঘোষণা) আইন, ১৯৭৩ (১৯৭৩ সনের ৮ নং আইন)-এর ধারা ৩ ও দ্বিতীয় তফসিল দ্বারা প্রতিস্থাপিত।
