Except where it is herein otherwise expressly enacted, nothing in this Act shall be deemed—
(a) to give any right to relief in respect of any agreement which is not a contract;
(b) to deprive any person of any right to relief, other than specific performance, which he may have under any contract; or
(c) to affect the operation of the ³[Registration Act, 1908] on documents.
³ The words, comma and figure "Registration Act, 1908" were substituted, for the words "Indian Registration Act" by section 3 and 2nd Schedule of the Bangladesh Laws (Revision And Declaration) Act, 1973 (Act No. VIII of 1973)

এই আইনে স্পষ্টভাবে অন্যরূপ বিধিবদ্ধ হয়েছে এমন ক্ষেত্র ব্যতীত, এই আইনের কোনো কিছু দ্বারা—

(খ) কোনো ব্যক্তিকে সুনির্দিষ্ট কার্যসম্পাদন ব্যতীত অন্য এমন কোনো প্রতিকারের অধিকার থেকে বঞ্চিত করা হয়েছে, যা কোনো চুক্তির অধীন তাঁর থাকতে পারে; অথবা
(গ) দলিলের ক্ষেত্রে ³[রেজিস্ট্রেশন আইন, ১৯০৮]-এর কার্যকারিতা ক্ষুণ্ন করা হয়েছে,
বলে গণ্য হবে না।
³ “ভারতীয় রেজিস্ট্রেশন আইন” শব্দগুলোর পরিবর্তে “রেজিস্ট্রেশন আইন, ১৯০৮” শব্দগুলো, কমা ও সংখ্যা বাংলাদেশ আইন (সংশোধন ও ঘোষণা) আইন, ১৯৭৩ (১৯৭৩ সনের ৮ নং আইন)-এর ধারা ৩ ও দ্বিতীয় তফসিল দ্বারা প্রতিস্থাপিত।
