দণ্ডসমূহঅনানুষ্ঠানিক অনুবাদ
The punishments to which offenders are liable under the provisions of this Code are,-
Firstly,- Death;
Secondly,- ¹⁵[Imprisonment for life];
Thirdly,-[Omitted by the Criminal Law (Extinction of Discriminatory Privileges) Act 1949 (Act No. II of 1950].
Fourthly,-Imprisonment, which is of two descriptions, namely:-
(1) Rigorous, that is, with hard labour;
(2) Simple;
Fifthly,- Forfeiture of property;
Sixthly,- Fine.
¹⁶[Explanation.-In the punishment of imprisonment for life, the imprisonment shall be rigorous.]

প্রথমত,— মৃত্যুদণ্ড;

তৃতীয়ত,— [ফৌজদারি আইন (বৈষম্যমূলক বিশেষাধিকার বিলোপ) আইন, ১৯৪৯ (১৯৫০ সনের ২ নং আইন) দ্বারা বিলুপ্ত]।
চতুর্থত,— কারাদণ্ড, যা দুই বর্ণনার, যথা:—
(১) সশ্রম, অর্থাৎ কঠোর পরিশ্রমসহ;
(২) বিনাশ্রম;
পঞ্চমত,— সম্পত্তি বাজেয়াপ্তি;
ষষ্ঠত,— অর্থদণ্ড।

¹⁵ “দ্বীপান্তর” শব্দটির পরিবর্তে “যাবজ্জীবন কারাদণ্ড” শব্দগুলো দণ্ডবিধি (সংশোধন) অধ্যাদেশ, ১৯৮৫ (১৯৮৫ সনের ৪১ নং অধ্যাদেশ)-এর ধারা ২ দ্বারা প্রতিস্থাপিত।
